10 More Songs To Add To Your Spooky Season Playlist
Over the last two spooky seasons, I have covered the best horror content in books, shows, movies, and now, songs. For my last listicle of spooky season content for the year, I am giving you ten more songs that are perfect for your playlist! All of these songs are currently available on Spotify.
10. “Monster Mash”- Bobby “Boris” Pickett & The Crypt Kickers
If you have been a fan of the Halloween season since you were a kid then you know why this song made the list. It was released in 1962 and features all of the classic horror monsters and it is just an all-around vibe this time of year. This song has been featured in so many animated Halloween specials and even got a remix by the Teen Titans a few years ago!

9. “This is Halloween” - ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ Soundtrack
First released in 1993 for Disney’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, this song is a must-have for every millennial! Whether you want the original classic version or one of the many covers, you can never go wrong with this song!
8. “Witchcraft” - Frank Sinatra
This is one of my favorite Sinatra songs and it is perfect for this time of year! The song was first released in 1957 and since has been featured in movies like Fifty Shades of Grey and Bewitched. It is especially perfect for a spooky season date night.
7. “Terrible Thing” - AG
This is the only song on this list that you have probably never heard of. It was first released in 2019 and while it was featured in Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina the song still sits mostly unheard on Spotify. This song has the perfect haunting vibe and would have fit perfectly on one of the Twilight Saga soundtracks if it had been released back when the films were coming out.
6. “Dream Warriors” - Dokken
Fans of the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise know this song well as it was written for the third film in the franchise, Dream Warriors. It acts as the theme song for the group in the film and is the perfect combination of rock and horror.
5. “The Time Warp” - ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ Soundtrack
If you are a fan of this cult classic film from 1975 then you know this song all too well. One of the best parts of this film is the dance sequence that accompanies this song and it is always a crowd-pleaser for Halloween parties.
4. “I Put A Spell On You” - Sylvia Black
While this song is typically associated with Hocus Pocus it was originally released by Screamin’ Jay Hawkins in 1956. While virtually every rendition of this song is perfect for this list I am using the 2019 version by Sylvia Black that was featured in the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
3. “Season Of The Witch” - Lana Del Rey
This is such a great song for spooky season regardless of which version you choose. The song was originally released in 1966 by Donovan, but for this list, I am using Lana Del Rey’s 2013 cover that was featured in Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark.
2. “Zombie” - The Cranberries
This 1994 classic is a song that most people know. While it is perfect for this time of year it is also an important song due to its subject matter. This song deals with some incredibly heavy subject matter about the dangers of war but is still an incredible song to have on any playlist.
1. “Thriller” - Michael Jackson
Regardless of your taste in spooky season content we can all agree that this was the only song that could take the number one spot on this list! It is the quintessential spooky season song and one that must be listened to at least a hundred times each year.
