Keep watch for a familiar face in Star Wars: Andor; the new series has dropped, and an actor has been lucky enough to be cast in the franchise twice!

James McArdle joins an elite group of performers who have played more than one part in the Star Wars saga. It’s an honor normally reserved for big names such as Mark Hamill, Kenny Baker, Warwick Davis, and Jeremy Bulloch. James McArdle first appeared on our screens in Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens as Resistance pilot Niv Lek. The character name in reverse is Kelvin, which is an homage to J.J Abrams’ grandfather. McArdle can be seen flying an X-Wing in the assault on Starkiller Base against the First Order.

RELATED:

James McArdle was cast in Star Wars: Andor as Timm Karlo, the manager of the salvage yard on Ferrix. He appears in the first three episodes and is pivotal to moving the plot forward. Star Wars: Andor has opened to rave reviews and McArdle’s performance is excellent as the jealous boyfriend of Bix Caleen. It’s unlikely we will see him in any more episodes, but now that Disney has shown they are open to recasting, it will be interesting to see if any other Star Wars actors turn up in the series.
