Warning: Andor spoilers below

Fans of Andor appear to be enjoying the newest episode, "Aldhani", as it shows the effects of the Empire when it applies its force to other planets and their inhabitants. Naturally, actions such as forcing everyone to move to Empire-controlled slums would not sit well with everyone. This is where the rebel resistance comes in, formed by the planet's resistance leader, Vel Sartha, who is played by Faye Marsay.

Fans of Game of Thrones might recognize Marsay as The Waif, and even more dedicated fans of her work may also remember the actress from PrideDarkest Hour, and the episode "Hated in the Nation" from Black Mirror. In the series, Andor, Vel Sartha, played by Marsay, leads Andor and the rest of the Aldhani resistance into a heist, wanting to steal from an Imperial base.

Much like The Waif from Game of Thrones, Marsay plays Sartha with a stern, stony disposition. Unlike the Waif, who was much more cruel, sadistic, and brutal, Sartha is much more level-headed and willing to do whatever is needed to reach her goals. Even if it means siding with a stranger she had just met.

Such a decision does not go unnoticed by the rest of the resistance, of course, as they have no idea who 'Clem' (Andor's alias) is or how Sartha came across him. While she wasn't initially pleased with working with a 'mercenary', she doesn't allow her choices to be questioned, especially when circumstances are beyond her control. Thankfully, unlike The Waif, Sartha does not see the need to beat or abuse other people she is supposed to be helping.

Faye Marsay's performances have always been intriguing, and always makes the role her own. Future episodes of Andor that take place on Aldhani are bound to be an intriguing watch for both fans of Andor and Star Wars. Sartha and the rest of the resistance are sure to make the series even more interesting, especially if they pull their heist off. We'll just have to wait and see.
