The Acolyte is an upcoming show on Disney+, with no set release date. It is being developed by Leslye Headland, creator of Russian Doll. Here is a brief synopsis:
“Leslye Headland, Emmy Award-nominated creator of the mind-bending series Russian Doll, brings a new Star Wars series to Disney+ with The Acolyte. The Acolyte is a mystery-thriller that will take the audience into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark side powers in the final days of the High Republic era.”
The show was announced during a Disney investor meeting on December 10, 2020. Rayne Roberts is set to co-develop the series with Headland, while Amandla Stenberg, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Lee Jung-Jae have been cast in unspecified leading roles.
