Everything We Know About ‘Star Wars: Eclipse’
Quantic Dream is gearing up to release a new game called Star Wars: Eclipse. The game is set in the High Republic era, a kind of golden age for the Jedi, centuries before the events of The Phantom Menace. The game will let players choose between diverse characters with unique abilities. Players will explore the uncharted Outer Rim throughout the game to discover new planets, creatures, and species. However, the game studio warns players that peace in the High Republic era may be more fragile than it appears. Players may find themselves caught up in the Outer Rim’s politics.
In a departure from Quantic Dream’s previous video games, Star Wars: Eclipse will play as an open-world game rather than a cinematic storyline. An exciting new feature of the game is choice-based gameplay. The choices players make will affect the locations and battles that appear in the game and the relationships between characters. Players can choose a peacemaker route, a warmaker route, or anything in between.

So far, there is a single cinematic trailer of Star Wars: Eclipse that shows lightsaber battles, an unknown character’s eye, images of an eclipse, and an image of Yoda staring out a window. The trailer is accompanied by ominous drum beats that could easily signal the start of a war. Unfortunately, no actual gameplay has been shown, and the game still lacks a release date, so gamers are left with more questions than answers.
Even the consoles the game will release on remain a mystery, although they will likely be on current gen PlayStation and Xbox consoles and PC. Despite all the mystery, it seems like Quantic Dream is going all out to bring Star Wars fans an epic adventure. The studio is based out of Paris but opened a new studio in North America to focus on the action and world design elements. The HQ in Paris will continue to focus on the story. According to Early Game, an alleged insider tip marks the release sometime in 2025, although other sources have indicated a 2027-2028 release window. So it seems fans will have to wait a while to shape their stories in Star Wars: Eclipse.
