Summer is upon us! In the world of Lord of the Rings Online, that means it will soon be time for the Midsummer Festival. The 2023 Midsummer Festival runs between June 8th and July 5th.

The Midsummer Festival takes place after the destruction of the One Ring within the main Lord of the Rings timeline and is a special event celebrating the wedding of Aragorn and Arwen. It is open to all players of Lord of the Rings Online; higher-level players can move more easily between the main location of Minas Tirith and other areas.

RELATED:

The festival takes place throughout Middle Earth, including the repeat locations of The Party Tree in Hobbiton; Thorin’s Hall, Celondim, and Duillond in Ered Luin; and the town of Bree in Bree-land.The main hub/area of the Midsummer Festival is the city of Minas Tirith (Midsummer), which is located in after-battle Old Anorien. If you’ve never been to Minas Tirith (Midsummer) before, you will need to use the map that you are granted through the automatic bestowal quest when you log on. After that, you will be able to use stable masters to travel to Minas Tirith just like other players.

The Midsummer period in Middle Earth encompasses the three days between the end of June and the beginning of July. The middle day is Midsummer Day, which is also the wedding day of Aragorn and Arwen.

Quests that involve the Midsummer Festival occur independently in the festival specifically and within the game’s overall epic storyline. These include familiar characters like Frodo, Gimli, Aragorn (as King Elessar), Legolas, Merry, Pippin, and Sam.

In terms of questing, there are of course there are the quests that are playable in every LOTRO festival- the Ale Association and Inn League delivery and tasting quests, the Festival Horse-races, and the Festival dances.
