If there’s anything Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios can do, they can bring every character imaginable onto the silver screen. They spent ten years doing it to culminate in the achievement that is Avengers: Endgame where everyone (well, almost everyone) from the previous ten years of Marvel movies comes together to defeat Thanos.

Now that they are nearing the end of Phase 4, it seems fans are about to get even more characters introduced into the MCU. It’s being reported now that in Loki season two, Marvel will introduce the Squadron Supreme. Furthermore, it’s rumored that Henry Cavill might join the MCU to play one of its main characters, Hyperion.

Who are the Squadron Supreme?

According to Marvel’s Fandom and Fandom Wire, they are the Marvel Universe’s version of the Justice League. They hail from an alternate universe than the one fans have been watching for the past dozen years. It’s been confirmed that the MCU that’s been unfolding takes place in the Earth-616 universe. The Squadron Supreme come from Earth-S. They’ve had several members, notably Hyperion, Doctor Spectrum, Blur, Nighthawk, Thundra, and Warrior Woman. Those are clearly references to the Justice League members. Blur would be the Marvel version of The Flash, Warrior Woman is similar to Wonder Woman, and so on. In the comics, they have been allies and enemies of The Avengers, and according to the news, it seems there is a particular direction the MCU is going to take them.

According to the information reported by Fandom Wire, the Squadron Supreme will be working for Kang in Loki season two, and they will not be friendly. Further rumor has Henry Cavill playing Hyperion, which is the Squadron Supreme’s version of Superman, except this version of Superman doesn’t have any qualms with hurting and killing people. That would certainly be interesting to see the man who played Superman in one universe play a version of him in another. Fandom Wire said that they’ll be similar to The Seven from The Boys, and they’ll also appear in the next Avengers film The Kang Dynasty.

Another interesting thing about the Squadron Supreme is their relation to Namor, who has been confirmed to be in the new Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. In the comics, the Squadron Supreme are responsible for destroying Atlantis as a means of punishing Namor’s attacks on the surface world. Hyperion also happens to kill Namor, and this makes the world question if their intentions were truly helpful.

Loki season two is set to be released late next year, and after seeing how the first season ended with the multiverse getting all jumbled and the statue of Kang within TVA headquarters, it’ll be interesting to see if these developments turn out to be true.
