Here Are Five Areas Of The 'Warhammer 40K' Universe That Henry Cavill And Prime Video Should Explore
Lo and behold, more opportunities to see a familiar actor on a streaming service are making themselves available to viewers and fans everywhere. According to Abe Apfel of Bell of Lost Souls, “Amazon has gotten the rights to make 40K stuff.” While what they’re making is unknown, the agreement appears wide-ranging: “The agreement encompasses rights to the universe across series, film, and more…” Luckily, Warhammer has gotten a longtime fan of theirs: Superman star Henry Cavill.
To get an idea of what Warhammer is, Henry Cavill himself explains to Graham Norton “Warhammer is about putting miniature models in little armies and fighting against someone else’s armies.” Diving further, Warhammer focuses on high fantasy while Warhammer 40K focuses on science fiction. Cavill will help bring this science-fiction adaptation to life. With a plot centered on “humanity living in the gloomy 42nd millennium in a perpetual state of war against hostile alien races and supernatural power”, fans will be in for a treat. Listed below are five sectors in which Warhammer 40K Cavill will do well.

1. The Necromunda Show
This sector of Warhammer 40K would not only fare well for Cavill but also the budget. According to Apfel, “The more limited setting would help keep the budget down…Necromunda is a bit more contained and…more approachable to mass viewers.” Best of all, its sci-fi/western genre could join in with other similar shows going well in the current zeitgeist.
2. The Inquisitor Show
Another budget-friendly suggestion, Cavill taking part in The Inquisitor Show “would be a great way to introduce people to the setting, as they could learn of new races and grimdark threats as they go along”. In addition, an Inquisitor Show allows viewers to be introduced to the wider Warhammer 40K universe without being bombarded by each aspect of the Warhammer universe as it serves as the basis of many storylines.
3. The Imperial Guard Show
As Cavill is familiar with playing the role of a man in a war within himself as Superman, if Cavill were to lend his talent to lead in a “war-focused show”, the results would be awe-inspiring. According to Digital Trends, a “live-action project” of the Imperial Guard show “should respect this richness of content.” This would include The Last Chancers as an amazing show with potential.
4. The Ultramarines Show
One of the best-known factions within Warhammer, an adaption would create “a lot of visibility.” In a sense, it would be odd if Prime Video didn’t make a show about the Space Marines. This show could also tie very well into modern 40K and the current storyline.
5. The Horus Heresy
Referred to as the “ultimate storyline” by Bell of Lost Souls, if Prime Video were to use the Horus Heresy material, there’s a wide collection of stories to use. With such a wide variety, viewers are welcome to an array of action and drama. As a result, Amazon will surely want to make the most of its investment.
Whether or not Amazon will “exploit Warhammer for everything it can deliver”, Cavill has the talent to carry whatever assignment is given to him. New worlds and characters await audience members no matter what.
