‘Star Wars: Andor’ Teaser Trailer Released
There are all kinds of new information flooding the Star Wars interwebs.
One, in particular, is the release of the Andor teaser trailer. It was accompanied by information about the Disney+ show. According to executive producer Tony Gilroy, season one will be a confirmed 12 episodes long. It'll be set five years before Rogue One, and we'll see Cassian Andor as he becomes the assassin spy we came to love in the Episode IV prequel movie.
There's a lot to digest in the trailer. First, we see glimpses of a young Andor with a group of people, so we'll likely see flashbacks if the series takes five years before Rogue One. The trailer portrays a galaxy on edge, with several scenes of people covering weapons and warning others of something approaching, likely Imperial troops. We hear voice-overs of Andor talking about Imperial corruption and Mon Mothma talking about how the Empire has spies everywhere, and they're watching her. The trailer also takes us to several locales; many did not immediately look recognizable, but there were some possibilities of Chandrila, Mon Mothma's home planet, and we see the Imperial Senate building, which used to be the Republic Senate from the prequels.
Several recognizable stars appear as well. Stellan Skarsgard makes an appearance, playing someone named Luthen, looking through binoculars, and phoning something in. It's unclear what his role will be in this instance. Other familiar faces also appear, with Genevieve O'Reilly reprising her role as Mon Mothma, and Anton Lesser, who played Qyburn in Game of Thrones, seeming to play some Imperial officer. The last we see is Fiona Shaw, whose captioned voice is credited as Maarva, talking about people standing up against the Empire. Fiona Shaw will be recognizable for her role as Harry Potter's aunt in the eponymous movies.
