Simon Pegg Suggests There Could Be A Fourth Cornetto Movie
It’s been nearly 20 years since Shaun of the Dead was released, marking the first movie in what’s come to be known as the Cornetto Trilogy. What makes it the Cornetto Trilogy, you may be asking? It’s sort of a running joke, where Shaun’s friend Ed uses Cornettos (a prepackaged ice cream cone) to fix his hangover. The gag carried over into each of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s next two movies, Hot Fuzz and The World’s End.
Recently, in an interview with The Guardian, Pegg talked about one of the most frequent questions he gets. He said, “If I ever do an Instagram Live or whatever, people are always like, ‘I need Shaun of the Dead 2 in my life…And I’m like, ‘No, you don’t f**king need Shaun of the Dead 2! The last thing you need is Shaun of the Dead 2! It’s done. Move on!” He went on to say he is more interested in adding to the trilogy with a new, separate film.

The comment comes from an Instagram post he made earlier this year where he reminisces about how long it’s been since they shot the last of the three movies and then coyly asked Nick Frost and Edgar Wright if they should get together again. In the interview, he comments about how he and Frost like to piss people off and do the opposite of what people expect.
The Cornetto Trilogy are not the only films Frost and Pegg have been in. They also starred in the single-season run of Truth Seekers. They also played in the movie Paul, The Adventures of Tin Tin, Slaughterhouse Rulez, and, way back in 2000, they were both in a show called Spaced. Their long-time friendship continues to this day, and despite fans wanting another Shaun of the Dead, if they make another, fans will surely love what the friends come up with.
