Michael B. Jordan Has Been Attached To Play John Clark In 'Rainbow Six' Movie

Black Panther and Creed star Michael B. Jordan is set to star in an upcoming film adaptation of Tom Clancy's 1998 novel Rainbow Six with Jordan playing the lead role of Rainbow Six team commander John Clark. Jordan previously played the character in Without Remorse in 2021. The same film ended with a sequel hook with a proposition to create a multinational counter-terrorist task force.
How much of the film adapts from the 1998 novel and how much will be taken from the Rainbow Six video game series is still uncertain at this point, but with almost 15 years of games and story there is a mountain of lore to adapt in addition to the Ryanverse, the Tom Clancy universe centered around CIA analyst Jack Ryan, another popular Tom Clancy character. John Krasinski recently played Ryan in the Amazon Prime Video series Jack Ryan.

While Without Remorse saw mixed reactions from critics, the sequel seems to be going ahead as Chad Stahelski, who directed the John Wick film series, will direct the film.
Rainbow Six features a covert multinational counter-terrorist special operations group that undertakes hostage rescue missions across the globe. With members from different allied countries, the RAINBOW team, as it is known in the novel, is authorized to act anywhere across the world. John Clark is the commander of the RAINBOW team with 'Rainbow Six' being Clark's designation.
Before Michael B. Jordan, Willem Dafoe (Spider-Man) played the role of John Clark in Clear and Present Danger in 1994 alongside Harrison Ford as Jack Ryan. Liev Schreiber (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) played Clark in The Sum of All Fears, released in 2002, with Ben Affleck as Ryan.
