Everything We Know About Ms. Marvel On Disney+
Marvel Studios have been using the Disney+ streaming service to further enhance the stories of Marvel Cinematic Universe characters we are familiar with and introduce new characters that have yet to appear in movies. So far, we’ve had WandaVision, Loki, The Falcon & The Winter Soldier, What If...? and Hawkeye, and now Moon Knight, which is currently airing. Next up on the slate is Ms. Marvel, which will be released on June 8th, 2022.
Ms. Marvel tells the story of Kamala Khan, a sixteen-year-old Pakistani-American from Jersey City, New Jersey. Kamala Khan is an aspiring artist who loves playing video games and is deeply immersed in writing fan-fiction. She is a massive fan of the Avengers and has an almost obsessive love for her favorite Avenger, Captain Marvel. Kamala Khan has always struggled to find her place in the world until she gets powers similar to the superheroes that she has looked up to.

Marvel Studios recently dropped the first trailer and poster for Ms. Marvel. The trailer has a unique stylized look that is different from other Marvel Studios series, which adds to the charm of Ms. Marvel. Marvel Studios is not afraid of changing things up on their TV shows, and Ms. Marvel benefits from this.
As with Marvel Studios, sometimes there is a change made for live-action presentation in the Marvel Cinematic Universe versus the original representation(s) in the Marvel Comics world. It would appear from the trailer that Ms. Marvel will be one of these cases. In the Marvel Comics world, Khamala Khan’s powers are linked to exposure to Terrigan Mist and the Inhuman DNA side of things. In the Ms. Marvel TV show in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, she gains her cosmic energy-based powers through a mystical wristband. Although there is no clear direction on this yet, this could link back to the original Captain Marvel from the comics where he wore Nega-Bands which were powerful bracelets.
When it comes to her actual powers, Ms. Marvel more than likely has some changes within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although the source of their powers in the comics was different, there was a visual similarity between the powers of Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel and Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic from the Fantastic Four. With a Fantastic Four movie on the horizon, Marvel Studios won’t want to have any confusion between the powers and abilities of Ms. Marvel versus those of Mr. Fantastic. As can be expected with passionate fandoms, the reaction to these changes has been slightly mixed, but Marvel Studios doesn’t tend to let fans down overall, and there is no doubt that Ms. Marvel will be well-received overall once it finally airs.
Ms. Marvel will consist of six episodes and is part of Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Ms. Marvel series will serve as a setup for The Marvels movie, which is currently scheduled to be released at some point in 2023. Iman Vellani will reprise her role as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel, and it is expected that other characters from the Ms. Marvel TV show will also appear. Set your reminders for June 8th, 2022, to commence the adventures of Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel. Ms. Marvel looks like it’s going to be a blast, and there is undoubtedly a fun journey ahead.
